This class will explore the alchemical foundation of classical Chinese herbal medicine with an emphasis on contemporary clinical application. Core concepts for the course include; understanding formulas through herbal families, application of yin yang theory in herbal prescribing, the importance of clinical differentiation based upon directional principles and the tenets of classical formula construction and modification.
