Course overview
Pendred syndrome (PDS), an autosomal recessive congenital syndrome, is caused by one of several mutations on the SLC26A4 gene at chromosome 7q22-q31, and is characterized by congenital hearing loss. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of Pendred syndrome, its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment for patients with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
