This course is designed to help CASA volunteers and attorney guardians ad litem understand the factors that can contribute to juvenile delinquency, as well as the steps that can be taken to prevent or reduce such behavior. Participants will explore common risk factors, effective interventions, and community-based supports available to assist youth. The presenter will outline the legal framework governing juvenile delinquency and explain how these laws and procedures intersect with the responsibilities of CASA volunteers and attorney guardians ad litem. By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of the nature and causes of delinquency and will gain insight into the influences that may lead a child to engage in delinquent acts. This knowledge will better equip them to advocate effectively for the young people they serve.
