Course overview

Poland syndrome (PS) is a relatively uncommon congenital anterior chest wall deformity characterized by unilateral hypoplasia or absence of the breast and/or nipple, hypoplasia of the pectoral subcutaneous tissue, absence of the sternocostal portion of the pectoralis major, absence of the pectoralis minor, missing ribs on the ipsilateral side, and syndactyly/hypoplasia of the hand or other radial anomalies. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of PS, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
