Course overview
Positron emission tomography (PET) scanning, also known as fluorodeoxyglucose- (FDG)-PET, is a diagnostic imaging procedure used to evaluate cellular metabolism and blood flow. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the nurse’s role in assisting with PET scanning. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
