PATIENT EDUCATION: BREAST CANCER SCREENING -- MAMMOGRAPHY

Course overview

Screening mammography (SM) is the single most effective method for early detection because it can identify breast cancer several years before physical signs and symptoms are apparent. Lack of SM and infrequent SM are widely recognized as major factors contributing to increased breast cancer mortality. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner information about teaching women about SM. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
