SICK BUILDING SYNDROME

Course overview

Sick building syndrome (SBS) refers to a situation in which occupants of a building develop a set of nonspecific symptoms, usually including irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat; fatigue; and headache. SBS typically occurs among occupants of an office building, and symptoms occur during the hours spent in that building. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of SBS, including its clinical presentation, symptoms, and treatment, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
