Course overview

This workshop uses a combination of lecture, discussion, videos and practical experience in small groups or dyads. Motivational Interviewing was created specifically to help those with alcohol or drug issues be able to consider recovery and develop a plan of recovery that works for that individual. MI is based upon the science of how people change and has overwhelming evidence for its efficacy in helping people change. The first day of training covers the relational aspects of MI; the second day focuses more on the technical aspects. Both are needed to be able to implement MI into one's practice successfully.
