Course overview
Stroke, previously known as cerebrovascular accident, is a medical emergency that occurs as a result of ischemia (ischemic stroke), caused by reduction of the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain, or hemorrhage (hemorrhagic stroke). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of stroke and QOL, including outcomes of stroke that impact QOL in stroke survivors and their caregivers. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
