Course overview

Stroke is the leading cause of severe disability among adults and is the third most common cause of death in the U.S. Sixty percent of strokes are ischemic. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of stroke treatment with oral antithrombotics, including types of oral antithrombotics and guidelines for the use of oral antiplatelet drugs and anticoagulants, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
