STRYKER WEDGE TURNING FRAME: USING TO TURN PATIENT FROM SUPINE TO PRONE

Course overview

A Stryker wedge turning frame is composed of 2 light-weight moveable bed-size frames that are placed horizontally (one above and one below the patient) and a position-stabilizing wedge that allow a patient lying between the frames to maintain spine immobilization during longitudinal (i.e., side to side) rotation for patient repositioning. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the use of the Stryker wedge turning frame, including why it is important to use this and what information should be provided to patients and families regarding the use of this device. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
