Course overview

Treacher Collins syndrome (TCS; also known as mandibulofacial dysostosis) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by craniofacial deformities, including a small airway. The deformities seen in TCS are caused by abnormal growth of the cranial bones and may include absent cheekbones, a small chin, an underslung jaw, a large mouth, a downward slant of the eyes, and cleft palate. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of current knowledge about TCS, including its description and etiology, incidence, clinical presentation, and treatment goals. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
