Course overview

A urinary catheter is any tube device or system that is inserted into the bladder for the purpose of urinary drainage. Urinary catheter use is associated with a number of complications, including urinary tract infection (UTI), bladder stones, urethral injury, and skin breakdown. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of urinary catheter removal, including a step-by-step procedure. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
