Course overview
Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) is a spore-forming gram-positive anaerobic bacillus. C. difficile is identified as an epidemiologically important organism (EIO), in part because it is the most commonly identified causative agent of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an opportunity to learn about C. difficile and CDAD, and to understand the actions needed to prevent transmission of C. difficile to others. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
