Course overview
Depression is often misunderstood and overlooked in older adults, particularly when physical health challenges may mask mental health concerns. The purpose of this course is to present an overview of depression and suicide in older adults. You will learn ways to detect depression in older adults and methods to reduce the risk of depression and suicide. The goal of this course is to educate administrators and non-licensed direct care professionals on how to recognize and prevent depression and suicide in older adults.
