Course overview
This continuing education course is intended for all dental healthcare professionals. The risk of cross-transmission between dental healthcare workers and patients is considered significant, particularly sharp injuries due to a small operating field, frequent patient movement, and various sharp instruments used in dental procedures. This course will increase awareness and understanding by dental health personnel in the matter of viral hepatitis in terms of clinical and asymptomatic disease, transmission, diagnostic tests, treatment, prophylaxis, and prevention through infection control, with a major emphasis on hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
