IV Therapy

Course overview

This course is designed for healthcare professionals to complete the 30 Hr IV Therapy course. The course is achieved via 15 hours of home pre-study and two classroom sessions 7.5 hours of classroom time. Participants will receive hands-on practice with IV simulation manikins. Topics include: infection control, central line use, fluids, electrolytes, blood, plasma, albumin, TPN therapy, assessment and care. Medication math formulas and dosage calculations are also discussed. The hands-on lab sessions are conducted with an instructor for the peripheral IV insertion and Central Venous access care sections.
