Basic Airway Management Through Case Studies
Tracking # 20-1348136
Course overview
Emergency Medical Technicians frequently encounter patients with compromised airways that require immediate intervention to prevent hypoxia, aspiration, and potentially fatal outcomes. Effective basic airway management skills can mean the difference between life and death, as brain cells begin dying within minutes of oxygen deprivation. This interactive online course will teach EMT personnel to recognize airway compromise in various patient presentations and apply appropriate BLS airway techniques using proper equipment and decision-making protocols. Additionally, you will learn to select and correctly use airway adjuncts, provide effective ventilation with bag-valve-mask devices, and make critical airway management decisions based on patient age, condition, and environmental factors through realistic field scenarios.
