The purpose of this course is to educate prescribers on best practices for the safe prescribing of controlled substances, including opioid analgesics. The course focuses on regulatory and legal framework, current best practices for prescribing controlled substances, pharmacologic (non-opioid and opioid analgesics) and non-pharmacologic therapies for pain management, diversion and treatment of substance use disorders.
