This intermediate, asynchronous, case-based course equips licensed healthcare professionals to recognize and respond to common ethical dilemmas and legal exposure points in clinical practice. Learners apply ethical decision-making frameworks to real-world scenarios involving informed consent and capacity, confidentiality and documentation, end-of-life decision-making, professional boundaries (including digital boundaries), and proactive risk management. Emphasis is placed on practical communication strategies, defensible documentation, appropriate escalation/consultation, and reflective boundary-setting to reduce professional risk while supporting patient rights and safety.
