Course overview

This is an ethics training focused on changing perceptions and delivery of services to those with substance use disorders. Participants will increase understanding of the social implications and potential dangers of diagnostic labels. The impact of stigmatizing language, confidentiality, and professional boundaries will be evaluated. Participants will develop strategies that promote a commitment to a person-centered approach, awareness of clinical limitations, scope of practice, and effective supervision. Case scenarios will be analyzed to identify ethical concerns and develop a plan to address the concerns
