Wernicke Korsakoff Syndrome WKS is a serious, often underdiagnosed neurological disorder caused by thiamine vitamin B1 deficiency, most commonly associated with chronic alcohol use but also seen in malnutrition, bariatric surgery patients, eating disorders, cancer, and prolonged critical illness. This course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic protocols, pharmacologic treatment, and prevention strategies related to WKS. Emphasis is placed on early recognition and timely intervention to prevent irreversible neurological damage and mortality.
