What you'll learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Recognize the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and public health significance of the Super-K influenza variant.

2. Apply appropriate diagnostic protocols and pharmacological management strategies for patients infected with the Super-K variant.

3. Implement infection prevention and control measures to minimize spread in healthcare and community settings.

Course overview

The Super K influenza variant is a newly identified, highly contagious strain of the influenza virus with enhanced virulence and the potential for severe respiratory illness. Unlike seasonal influenza, this variant demonstrates increased resistance to common antiviral therapies and is associated with rapid transmission, high hospitalization rates, and severe complications, particularly in immunocompromised populations. This course equips healthcare professionals with knowledge to identify, diagnose, and manage infections caused by the Super K variant. Participants will learn evidence-based pharmacologic treatments, diagnostic protocols, and infection prevention measures necessary to reduce morbidity and mortality in clinical and community settings.
