Capgras Syndrome is a rare delusional misidentification disorder in which an individual believes that a familiar person most often a spouse, family member, or caregiver has been replaced by an identical imposter. Although uncommon, Capgras Syndrome is clinically significant due to its association with neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, brain injury, and increased risk of agitation or violence.
