Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (vEDS) is a rare, genetically inherited connective tissue disorder caused by mutations in the COL3A1 gene, resulting in defective type III collagen. It is characterized by fragile blood vessels, risk of arterial rupture, organ fragility, and characteristic facial features. Early recognition is critical due to the life threatening risk of vascular or organ rupture.
