Course overview

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a rare, heterogeneous disorder characterized by abnormal mast cell activation, leading to recurrent, multi-system symptoms such as flushing, hypotension, gastrointestinal disturbances, and anaphylaxis. Unlike systemic mastocytosis, MCAS may occur without mast cell proliferation but with heightened mediator release. Prompt recognition and targeted management are essential to prevent severe, life-threatening reactions. This course provides healthcare professionals with an in depth review of MCAS, including pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic strategies, pharmacologic interventions, and long term patient care.
