Course overview

Pulmonary Veno-Occlusive Disease (PVOD) is a rare and life-threatening form of pulmonary hypertension characterized by progressive obstruction and fibrosis of pulmonary venules and small veins. Although classified under pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), PVOD differs significantly in pathophysiology, diagnostic findings, and response to therapy. Misdiagnosis may lead to inappropriate treatment and fatal complications such as pulmonary edema. This course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth review of PVOD pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnostic protocols, pharmacologic considerations, treatment strategies, and outcomes, emphasizing early recognition and safe management.
