Course overview

Stiff Person Syndrome SPS is a rare, disabling neurologic disorder characterized by progressive muscle rigidity, painful spasms, and heightened sensitivity to external stimuli. Often misdiagnosed due to its rarity and overlap with psychiatric or musculoskeletal conditions, SPS is most commonly associated with autoimmune processes involving antibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase GAD. This course provides healthcare professionals with a comprehensive overview of Stiff Person Syndrome, including pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic testing, pharmacologic and supportive treatment strategies, safety considerations, and patient outcomes.
