Course overview

Wilson Disease is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder of copper metabolism that results in excessive copper accumulation in the liver, brain, and other organs. If left untreated, Wilson Disease can lead to hepatic failure, neurologic deterioration, and psychiatric manifestations. Because early symptoms are often nonspecific, delayed diagnosis is common. This course provides healthcare professionals with a comprehensive review of Wilson Disease, emphasizing early recognition, diagnostic testing, pharmacologic treatment, monitoring strategies, patient education, and long term outcomes
