Course overview

In the Certified Pitching Biomechanist Course, students will learn ways to objectively evaluate throwing athletes through the lens of the ArmCare.com Strength and Coordination Decision Making Tree. The decision-making tree is a framework, much like medicine, that provides a differential diagnosis pathway through a hierarchy of evaluations and optimization factors, combining 3D motion capture, dynamometry, and range-of-motion data. Collectively, the blend of these metrics in testing formulates Strength and Coordination Training programs. Course participants will then be taught to successfully integrate those metrics to help customize training programs, based on pain and dysfunction, kinematics, and kinetics, and to acknowledge workload elements and fatigue that can interfere with motor preferences and optimal performance.
