Course overview
This course provides a practical, accessible introduction to ethical nursing practice. Learners will explore essential concepts including nursing ethics, ethical theories and principles, and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics. The course reviews the Nursing Practice Act, scope of practice, professional boundaries, mandatory reporting requirements, and considerations related to substance use. Through real-world examples, nurses will gain the knowledge needed to recognize and navigate ethical challenges in practice while upholding professional standards. This course is relevant to nurses from all states and territories, and will cover Texas specific content to meet their requirements.
