Course overview
This course discusses the recognition, assessment, and nursing roles related to domestic and family violence. Aligned with Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) requirements, this course explores the dynamics of abuse, the impact on adult and child victims, screening and reporting obligations and evidence-based nursing protocols for providing patient-centered care. Participants will also learn how to assist patients to develop safety plans, how to identify and utilize community resources, and how to support patients while in need of nursing care.
