Pathway to Certification: Occupational Therapist to Certified Hand Therapist (Self Paced)

Course overview

This course is designed to guide occupational therapists through the journey of becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) while emphasizing the role of occupational engagement in rehabilitation. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the requirements, preparation strategies, and clinical competencies needed to achieve CHT certification. The course will review the certification process, including eligibility, exam preparation, and clinical experience requirements. Resources and opportunities available to the OTP will be shared, as well as ways to maximize these resources, as a roadmap to certification. By the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to confidently pursue the national CHT certification and deliver high-quality, occupation-focused care to individuals with hand and upper extremity conditions. Target Audience: Occupational therapists, Occupational therapy assistants and occupational therapy students are welcome This occupational therapy continuing education course uses the following instructional methods: visual aides (ie slides), discussion board, guided note taking, and learning, and practice opportunities.
