What you'll learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Differentiate the major types of cardiac amyloidosis and their clinical implications.

2. Identify key diagnostic features and testing modalities used to confirm cardiac amyloidosis.

3. Apply evidence-based treatment and management strategies to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Course overview

Cardiac amyloidosis is a progressive infiltrative cardiomyopathy caused by extracellular deposition of misfolded amyloid fibrils within the myocardium. These deposits lead to ventricular stiffening, diastolic dysfunction, conduction abnormalities, and eventual heart failure. Historically underdiagnosed, cardiac amyloidosis is now increasingly recognized due to advances in imaging and disease-specific therapies. This course provides healthcare professionals with a comprehensive review of cardiac amyloidosis, including types, clinical presentation, diagnostic strategies, pharmacologic management, and interdisciplinary care considerations.
