Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Course overview

This course explores the principles and practices of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and their application within social work settings across the lifespan. Participants will examine the five core SEL competencies, relevant developmental and cultural frameworks, and the integration of SEL into schools, clinical practice, and community organizations. Emphasis is placed on trauma-informed approaches, evidence-informed programming, and sustainable implementation strategies. By the end of the course, social workers will be equipped to promote emotional intelligence, social awareness, and resilience in the individuals and systems they serve.
