Course overview

This three-hour continuing education training addresses how behavioral health agencies and providers respond effectively to critical incidents such as client suicide or overdose, staff death, or workplace violence. While prevention is often emphasized in behavioral health education, this training focuses on the clinical, supervisory, ethical, and organizational responsibilities that arise after a crisis occurs. Participants will examine systems-based responses to critical incidents, including ethical decision-making, risk management, staff oversight, and maintenance of the therapeutic milieu.
