Course overview

This live webinar is an in-depth study on functional electrical stimulation (FES), with a specific focus on FES cycling. We'll begin with a review of the principles of NMES and FES, then go on to discuss which patients are and are not candidates for FES cycling therapy, and then we perform an exhaustive review of the published literature on clinical outcomes of FES cycling therapy for different patient populations. The current evidence for and against the use of FES cycling therapy by diagnosis is presented for spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke/hemiparesis, and cerebral palsy. This course is designed to equip clinicians with knowledge of the current FES cycling literature along with practical guidance they can incorporate directly into their daily practice.
