Course overview
Domestic violence is pervasive and occurs across a spectrum of relationships, people, behaviors, and time; no one abusive relationship will look the same. This session will review the dynamics of domestic violence, including tactics and types of abuse commonly used to gain or maintain power over victims, with an emphasis on both the short and long-term impacts on parent and child survivors. Participants will be equipped with Trauma-Informed, Victim-Centered strategies to promote safety and access to services as well as community resources to best assist families.
