Course overview

This course is constructed as education for Winback TECAR Certified Practitioners (including physical therapists, athletic trainers, chiropractors, and rehab specialists) to both train other clinicians on TECAR and EMS and related technologies and provide education on core competencies and advanced topics related to integrating these modalities into their practice to amplify their offerings (specifically in sports medicine/orthopedics and pelvic health). All practitioners are expected to have a Winback TECAR Practitioner Certification as a prerequisite. This course will provide these practitioners with training on how to educate others on these modalities and protocols. Specifically, students will learn how to teach Winback's radiofrequency TECAR + EMS device's core modes - Capacitive, resistive, Mix, Hi-EMS, and Hi-TENS. These also include in depth understanding of how to teach clinical application of these modes, with both hands-on and hands-free protocols. Additionally, the course will include advanced training on specific patient populations that are commonly treated with TECAR and EMS devices, including sports medicine/orthopedics and pelvic health conditions. The course will include best practices for training staff members to work with these modalities and methods and how to effectively communicate the scientific aspects of these technologies. This course is given in person, with a mix of lecture, workshop, and discussion groups. The content will be divided into 1-2 hour sections, and will be covered in 2 days, for a total of 15 hours of training/CEUs (8 on day 1, and 7 on day 2). Most topics will include some demonstrations and practical discussion or practice. Participants mastery of the material will be evaluated by a short presentation demonstrating the participant teaching a trainee about one of the topics discussed in the course, and an oral competency exam for techniques and protocols covered.
