Course overview

This lecture-format course will provide optometrists with an evidence-based overview of pediatric myopia, including current epidemiology, risk factors, and progression benchmarks. The course will explore the scientific rationale, mechanism of action, and clinical efficacy of myopia control therapies such as low-dose atropine, orthokeratology, dual-focus/multifocal soft contact lenses, and spectacle-based solutions. Participants will learn how to assess progression using biometry and refractive data, identify appropriate treatment candidates, and customize management plans. Case examples will reinforce practical application in primary care settings.
