Course overview

The pathologization of both neurodiversity and kink has contributed to harm and created negative societal implications. This virtual course examines the roots of pathologization and provides education on the use of appropriate terminology to shift towards an affirming practice. The intersection of kink and neurodiversity is a developing but limited area of research. Attendees will gain insight into how kink practices and environments can meet the sensory, relational, and communication needs of many neurodivergent individuals. The course also introduces clinical interventions for working with individuals and couples, with a focus on enhancing communication, discussing consent, and fostering safety within relationships.
