What you'll learn
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Identify common MRSA and MDR pathogens, their mechanisms of resistance, and risk factors for infection.

3. Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of MRSA and MDR bacteria in healthcare settings.
Course overview
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other multi-drug resistant bacteria (MDRB) are significant healthcare-associated pathogens that pose serious challenges in patient care. They can cause skin and soft tissue infections, bloodstream infections, pneumonia, and surgical site infections. These bacteria are resistant to multiple antibiotics, complicating treatment and increasing morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. This course provides healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of transmission, risk factors, diagnostic strategies, treatment options, infection control, and prevention in healthcare settings.
