An NDT Treatment Approach to the Baby

Course overview

We know early intervention is critical for optimizing an infant's development and functional potential; therefore, as clinicians, we are seeking ways to promote their participation. This course is designed for the pediatric therapist who desires to improve their assessment and intervention in the treatment of babies and young children. Important aspects of development will be addressed in this course through both didactic lectures and labs, as well as problem-solving labs that build on a solid foundation of typical and atypical components, along with sensory components that impact development. Direct handling will be discussed and practiced during labs using a multidisciplinary approach, working from an understanding of current, contemporary Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) practice models to assessment and intervention. This application will be applied to babies and children during functional skills such as ADLs and play, and during participation.
