Course overview

This course covers the etiology, clinical evaluation, and acupuncture treatment approaches for sleep disturbances brought on by disorders of the cervical spine and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ). It describes how myofascial tension, neurovascular compression, and cervical degenerative changes impact sleep, as well as how muscle pain associated with the TMJ impairs the quality of sleep. Auricular therapy, floating needle therapy, local and related acupuncture point needling, cupping, and integrated interventions are among the therapeutic modalities covered in the course. The focus is on holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine principles, point selection, and needling techniques to improve quality of life and sleep.
