This course is directed to Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and RNs who are interested in increasing their knowledge and physical exam skills and office treatment for common anorectal pathology. Four of the top colorectal surgeons from the AdventHealth Medical Group Colorectal Surgery Department have sequenced these learning modules beginning with anal anatomy and examination, and continuing with anorectal disease processes and treatment, and how to perform necessary procedures to treat common anorectal conditions, including internal and external hemorrhoids, fissures, condyloma, perianal abscesses, pilonidal disease, and pruritus ani. The purpose of this course is to provide Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) full scope of practice providing them the knowledge and skill-set to assess and treat anorectal pathology. Upon completion, the APPs will possess the clinical skills needed to treat common anorectal conditions in the office setting. This knowledge and skill will improve access to care, healthcare cost, and positively affect patient outcomes.
