Foundations in Scientific Acupuncture - Course 9
Tracking # 20-1358175
Course overview
The yangming channel is often described as the stomach and large intestine channel. In this lecture Dr Keown explains how it is better understood as the muscular layer of the intestines. The anatomy of the intestinal tract is described and how it has two main layers. The outer layer, yangming, is responsible for warming the contents of the bowel and protecting and supporting the delicate inner layer. The lecture then analyses the function of the 'stomach' in absorbing fluids and rotting and ripening the food. The psycho-emotional aspects relating to neediness are then discussed. The lecture finishes with the anatomy and function of the large intestine channel and commonly used points.
