Course overview
This 4-hour continuing education course equips healthcare professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills to identify, assess, and respond to human trafficking and child exploitation. Victims frequently interact with healthcare systems while under control of traffickers, making providers uniquely positioned to intervene. This course explores risk factors, behavioral and physical indicators, trauma-informed care, legal reporting obligations, and multidisciplinary response strategies. Emphasis is placed on protecting vulnerable populations, particularly children, and ensuring compliance with federal and state reporting laws. Participants will gain the confidence to recognize subtle warning signs and take appropriate, life-saving action.
