0202-0000-26-059-L08-P The ever-changing nature of the illicit drug market makes it crucial to remain informed about the potential contaminants in drugs obtained outside of legitimate medical channels. This session will review stimulant, opioid and sedative overdose characteristics, substances increasingly found in the unregulated drug supply, including xylazine, medetomidine, designer benzodiazepines, methamphetamine and others, and explain how these affect overdose response. Harm reduction and overdose prevention strategies will also be reviewed by an expert in the field that's leading the way.
