Over 5 million Medicare beneficiaries receive home health services each year, yet many therapists enter this setting without adequate training in its unique safety, documentation, and clinical practice demands increasing the risk of non-compliance, safety hazards, and suboptimal outcomes. Delivering effective therapy in the home requires specific skills that differ from traditional facility-based care. Properly trained therapists can enhance patient safety, improve functional outcomes, and optimize reimbursement while failure to follow best practices may result in denials, audits, or preventable hospital readmissions.
