This course explores the anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic significance of the vagus nerve in bodywork and nervous system regulation. Students will identify the path of the vagus nerve and understand its key functions in maintaining homeostasis, supporting digestion, heart rate, and emotional balance. Participants will explore how chronic stress, trauma patterns, postural habits, and pain states influence vagal tone, and how intentional manual therapy can help "reset" the nervous system toward rest, digest, and repair. Emphasis is placed on practical, gentle techniques that can be immediately integrated into massage sessions without force or strain. Through guided practice, participants will learn and demonstrate vagus reset bodywork techniques designed to calm the nervous system, enhance parasympathetic activity, and promote deep relaxation and whole-body integration. By the end of the course, students will have a practical understanding of how to incorporate vagus nerve-focused techniques into their bodywork sessions to support client wellbeing and stress recovery. You will need two practice bodies to practice the techniques. This is a live webinar requiring live audio and video with a web camera and microphone. (Laptops have them built into the computer, desktops require external components.)
